September 1, 2017
Jeep Announces New Golden Eagle, Freedom and Altitude Editions
For 2018, the iconic Jeep JK will continue its tradition of rugged durability and go anywhere, do anything capability with three new editions to the lineup: the Golden Eagle, Freedom and Altitude.
Golden Eagle JK
The Golden Eagle JK will feature steel front and rear bumpers along with fully capable BFGoodrich KO2 tires. The rest of the package is cosmetic with Golden Eagle center and side hood decals, bronze accents along the grille, fender flares as well as light bronze accent stitching throughout the interior, and Golden Eagle logos on the front seats.
Freedom Edition JK
The Freedom Edition JK will feature steel front and rear off-road bumpers and heavy duty rock rails with matching black taillight guards along with other cosmetic enhancements including: Oscar Mike (On the Move for military laymen) badges on the fenders, hood and quarter panels; Oscar Mike logos embroidered on the seat backs; silver accent stitching throughout the interior; and a premium black soft top.
Altitude Edition JK
Finally, the new Altitude Edition will be based on the Sahara model with purely cosmetic enhancements such as a power bulge hood, standard body color grille and hardtop, and liquid titanium color accents on the interior and exterior.
All Jeep JK models for 2018 will continue to offer only one powertrain option: the 3.6L Pentastar V-6 introduced in 2012 with 285hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque with a focus on low-end torque. With the exception of the three new editions listed above, the 2018 Jeep JK – as well as all Jeep vehicles for 2018 – will be available at a local dealership shortly.
Editor Note: At the time of this release, there was no official launch date noted for the three new editions or images available. We will provide updates once those items become available.
