Sportsmobile Announces Availability of Mercedes Sprinter 4×4

During Overland Expo WEST, we had an opportunity to see first-hand the latest addition to the Sportsmobile line-up: the Mercedes Sprinter 4×4. The vehicle is absolutely fantastic with a myriad of floor plans and options for the overlander and adventure traveler.

Official Release – Sportsmobile West, Fresno, California expands its stable of Overland and Camper Vehicles to include the newly released Mercedes Benz Sprinter 4×4 chassis. This highly coveted and much awaited option to the Sprinter van chassis, the 4×4 and 4×4 with low range offers the expedition and adventure traveler a new platform to consider.
Overlanding and Adventure travel is an ever expanding market. Add this customer base to the weekend warriors, casual travelers, retiree’s and families making the Sportsmobile a viable option to almost everyone.
Sportsmobile started in 1961 with the VW Camper Van Conversions, and in the mid 1960’s expanded its offering of chassis to include Ford, Dodge, and Chevy vans. Now, Sportsmobile is offering conversions on all the larger sized van chassis, Ford Econoline, Ford Transit, Dodge ProMaster, Chevy and GMC Savanna, Nissan NV, and the Mercedes Benz Sprinter. The 2015 Sprinter is the first full sized van chassis to offer a factory 4×4 option. In the past, all 4×4 options on the van chassis have been aftermarket conversions.
The Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis has been increasing in popularity in the US markets since its introduction in 2003 but was only available as a rear 2 wheel drive chassis.
