Toyota Launches New bZ Woodland SUV
February 17, 2026
Toyota is expanding its battery-electric lineup with its most rugged entry yet: the all-new 2026 bZ Woodland. Arriving at dealerships nationwide next month, the bZ Woodland blends midsize SUV versatility with genuine off-road capability and strong all-electric performance.

Powered by a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system, the bZ Woodland delivers a robust 375 horsepower, making it the most powerful bZ model to date. Toyota estimates a brisk 0–60 mph time of just 4.4 seconds. Standard AWD with X-MODE® enhances traction and stability by optimizing brake control and power delivery, while Grip Control helps maintain steady speeds in challenging low-traction conditions. The battery pack, mounted flat beneath the floor, lowers the center of gravity for improved handling and structural rigidity.

The 2026 bZ Woodland offers an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 281 miles. When equipped with available all-terrain tires, range is estimated at 260 miles. Designed for adventure, the SUV features 8.4 inches of ground clearance, standard roof rails, and a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.

Visually, the Woodland introduces a more rugged take on the existing bZ design. Black overfenders accent Toyota’s signature hammerhead front fascia, while the body grows nearly six inches longer and slightly taller at the rear. The added length increases cargo space to 74.3 cubic feet with the second row folded flat, compared to 67.1 cubic feet in the standard bZ. Eighteen-inch aluminum wheels with aero covers come standard, with all-terrain tires available for drivers seeking additional off-pavement confidence.

Charging flexibility is a key focus. The 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery features a North American Charging System (NACS) port compatible with Level 3 DC fast charging. Under ideal conditions, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. Battery pre-conditioning helps optimize charging speeds by bringing the battery to an ideal temperature before fast charging. The vehicle also supports Plug & Charge capability for seamless authentication at select charging networks. An 11-kW onboard charger supports Level 1 and Level 2 AC charging, and a dual-voltage home charging cable is included. Steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters allow drivers to adjust regenerative braking levels to recapture energy during deceleration.

Inside, the bZ Woodland rides on Toyota’s dedicated e-TNGA BEV platform, providing generous passenger space and a spacious cabin layout. A 14-inch touchscreen running the Toyota Audio Multimedia system comes standard, along with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility, dual Bluetooth connectivity, and available Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

The bZ Woodland is offered in two grades: Woodland and Woodland Premium. Standard features include heated front and rear outboard seats, a heated steering wheel, dual wireless chargers, Digital Key capability, SofTex-trimmed seats, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The Premium grade adds JBL® premium audio, ventilated front seats, radiant foot and leg heaters, driver memory settings, a digital rearview mirror, and a panoramic fixed-glass roof.

Safety remains central, with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0™ standard. The suite includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Panoramic View Monitor, Safe Exit Alert, and Toyota’s Star Safety System are also included.

As Toyota continues expanding its electrified portfolio — now totaling 21 models across hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell, and battery-electric offerings — the 2026 bZ Woodland stands out as its most adventure-ready EV yet.
