Cargo Dog Jeep Storage provides heavy duty and secure storage for Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator

As a Jeep Wrangler owner, I’m always looking for storage solutions for my overlanding trips.  When an ad popped up for the Cargo Dog hidden storage system, I was immediately interested.  After doing some research, looking at photos, and talking with the company owner, the Cargo Dog storage boxes were on my front porch!

Cargo Dog is a heavy duty, secured, multipurpose, rear seat delete storage solution for Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and Jeep Gladiator.  The system is comprised of three steel “boxes” that basically replace the rear seat and gives the Wrangler and Gladiator safe and secure (locking) storage while making the rear cargo area completely flat.  The fitted boxes bolt directly into the existing rear seat attachment bolt points, creating a solid, secure, and seamless fitment.  The boxes add an incredible amount of storage and organizational ability to the cargo area of the Wrangler (and Gladiator).  The center box comes pre-wired with lights and USB/12v charging ports.  The wiring system is powered by a 12v plug to either the center console or the rear cargo 12v plug-in.

Installation is as easy as plug and play.  The most difficult part is removing the factory seat bolts.  For this, I highly recommend an impact wrench.  In fact, after trying to use a socket wrench for the first few bolts, I borrowed an impact wrench for the remaining ones.  With an impact wrench, installation would be about 10 minutes.  The boxes look and feel like something that would come from the factory.  Very solid and designed perfectly to fit in the space previously occupied by the rear seats.  It is a very clean and seamless look.  The installation is not permanent whatsoever.   The boxes can be removed, and the seats re-installed in about 10 minutes.  In addition, a “40%” bracket is available as an added cost so the single rear seat can be replaced even faster while still having one side of the cargo box available.  It is an ingenious system.

I recently took a 1500-mile road trip to Colorado to do some off-roading and mountain climbing while also testing the Cargo Dog system.  I wanted to see if the Cargo Dog could withstand the rigors of Colorado 4×4 roads and help organize my gear for the trip.  I was not disappointed.  Despite the rough roads and crazy amounts of gear, the Cargo Dog boxed performed beyond expectations.  The boxes never rattled or shifted, and all my gear was safe and secure.

I highly recommend the Cargo Dog storage boxes.  This item won the Interior Accessory Product category at the 2021 SEMA show!   It is currently available for the Jeep Wrangler JKU, JL, or Gladiator.   Cargo Dog boxes are currently under development for the Toyota Tacoma, so be on the lookout for that!
