3-Day Event Showcasing the Outdoor Recreation & Overland Industries Returns
The Montana Outdoors Foundation will host the 2nd annual RecCon Montana at the University of Montana in Missoula July 10-12, in conjunction with the Adventure Van Expo. RecCon, an expo style event, highlights outdoor recreation businesses, non-profits and adventure travelers, accentuating the relationship between recreation and conservation.
“Last year, we brought companion organizations together, and provided a place to tell their story. This year, we’re using RecCon to impart what we’re doing to an audience throughout Montana and nationwide,” said Jeff Wright, Foundation President. “We not only related to each other on a B2B level, we engaged enthusiasts and attendees interested in the outdoors. Demonstrating our relationship building ability, this year we’re adding the Adventure Van Expo.”
Established in 2018, The Montana Outdoors Foundation highlights the state’s outdoor recreation opportunities and its outdoor businesses. The Outdoor Industry Association in 2017 reported that outdoor recreation accounted for $7.1BN in consumer spending and 71,000 jobs, Montana’s 2nd largest industry. With RecCon, the Foundation is looking to further expand those numbers.
The Foundation believes stewardship and conservation are crucial to preserving the legacy of adventure and exploration, so that future generations are able to discover the remote and beautiful public lands that make Montana special.
