RealTruck has introduced two next-generation truck caps aimed at overlanders and vehicle-based adventurers: the APEX FGC-5000 and Ascend FGC-4500. Both are now available for current-generation short-bed models including the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, and Ram 1500, with additional applications rolling out this year.

Debuted at the 2025 SEMA Show, the APEX FGC-5000 blends SUV-inspired styling with practical expedition functionality. Large, panoramic-style windows increase visibility for drawer systems and sleeping platforms, while shatter-resistant tempered glass helps secure valuables at camp or in town. A patent-pending InvisiLatch™ system synchronizes the rear hatch with the tailgate for easy access — especially useful when hands are full of gear.

Inside, a carpeted liner reduces noise and condensation, and ActiveTilt™ dome lighting with dual LED rope lights provides bright, even illumination after dark. The APEX FGC-5000 starts at $5,599.99.

For travelers running rooftop tents or heavy rack systems, the Ascend FGC-4500 focuses on strength and modularity. Built around a 14-gauge steel frame and rated to support up to 1,200 pounds, it’s designed for serious loads. QuickMount™ removable panels allow users to convert the cap to a rack-only configuration in minutes, adding flexibility for oversized cargo or seasonal needs.
