Several weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting the team who has made OK4WD & Tire one of the finest full-service shops on the east coast and THE go-to retailer for the overlander, whether at their brick and mortar store or online.
For over 30 years, the folks at OK4WD & Tire have been providing vehicle-supported adventurers with a full-service shop to handle any build or modification to enhance the off-pavement experience. They’ve also become one of the finest retailers for virtually any part or product when travelling into the backcountry with a fully-stocked warehouse featuring items from AEV, ARB, Front Runner Outfitters, Alu-Cab, James Baroud, XVENTURE and much more!

First ARB Air Locker Installed in the United States
Back in 1979, Jim Oostdyk founded OK4x4 in Springtown, NJ from a two-bay garage gas station. Over the succeeding 10 years, the company would continue to grow with the original shop undergoing a renovation and eventually changing the name of the company to OK4WD, then moving to their current location in Stewartsville, NJ in 1988. At that time, OK4WD became the first company in the United States to install an ARB Air Locker and over the years has expanded their full-service shop and warehouse.
The showroom floor highlights a myriad of products available in the shop or online including the latest from XVENTURE, Front Runner Outfitters, and more!
ARB products are fully-stocked for any vehicle-supported adventure.
OK4WD & Tire’s warehouse is fully-stocked with their order processing station ready to fulfill any online orders worldwide.

In addition to expanding their brick-and-mortar presence, OK4WD updated their shop and warehouse in 2011 to become more carbon neutral, installing a full array of solar technology to their building and running their shop on 100% solar-powered energy.
Outside the shop a rock garden has been built to test suspension installations and other vehicle modifications. The parking lot itself is fun to watch as you never know what vehicle may roll in for service or to load up on parts.
