The LifeSaver Jerry Can Provides Clean Pressurized Water on the Trail
Yet again, my wife, Louise, and I are exploring and adventuring in the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument—located in south-central Utah and continuing south to the Arizona state border. This high desert landscape includes a wondrous land of canyons, mesas, alcoves, refreshing streams, and hidden gems. We are on a never-ending mission to find and discover those gems.

“Water!”

Louise grabbed the jerry can and dipped it in the Escalante River. The cool water filled the jug within minutes, and she tightened the cap. I pumped a few times to pressurize the container, turned the spigot, and poured fresh, clean water. With our Camelbaks filled, we headed down the trail, ready to hike.
Overlanders and adventurers are saturated with the latest and newest gear. We are fortunate that many companies design and develop gear that makes backcountry adventuring easier and more fun. Granted, it sometimes seems challenging to decide what gear to purchase and what not to delay purchasing. • The ability to fill up from any water sources. Obviously, the cleaner the water, the better for the filter. Otherwise, too dirty of water will shorten the life of the filter.
• Pressurizing pump and spigot make water fill-ups simple.
• Optional Shower Head for a quick rinse or washing off something. (no personal knowledge-did not test)
Dislikes:
• The can itself can lose pressure easily.
• The closer to empty, the more pumps you need to do to pressurize can.
